I have been thinking about getting some sort of floater tattoo recently. I have been trying to be creative and come up with something on my own but i think i am just going to get the floater glyph man. But before i get it i would like to know if there is any meaning behind the glyph. Either way glyph is probably my favorite floater album so i think im going to get it but please help me with some info on the glyph man. I have done a lot of research on it but cant find anything.

the 'glyph guy'
In Egyptian mythology, Huh was the deification of eternity in the Ogdoad, his name itself meaning endlessness. As a concept, he was androgynous, his female form being known as Hauhet, which is simply the feminine form of his name.
Like the other concepts in the Ogdoad, his male form was often depicted as a frog, or a frog-headed human, and his female form as a snake or snake-headed human. The other common representation depicts him crouching, holding a palm stem in each hand (or just one), sometimes with a palm stem in his hair, as palm stems represented long life to the Egyptians, the years being represented by notches on it. Depictions of this form also had a shen ring at the base of each palm stem, which represented infinity. Depictions of Huh were also used in hieroglyphs to represent one million, which was essentially considered equivalent to infinity in Egyptian mathematics. Thus this deity is also known as the 'god of millions of years'.
It was part of a neon sign in the practice space (i think that's what the room was) back in the day.

Since I got the glyph guy tattoo'd on my arm a few years ago I've noticed others with the same tattoo quite a bit at shows lately.. Good choice for a Floater tattoo I do suppose!

the similarity of our designs is pretty weird.
I gotta say that his design is pretty sweet. an afterthought for mine was to have the alter flower behind it (would have cost me the same ammount)

In the grand scheme it's kinda poetic, i guess that makes all of us who have been 'glyph-ed' a collective personification of the blank faces on the album cover.

yes i did get inked. Unfortunately i ended up not getting the glyph man. I plan on getting him for my next tattoo. When i was on my way down to lady luck tattoo on SE morrison (great work by the way, and just a little spendy but not bad) i was feeling one of dali's elephants so i ended up getting a dali elephant on my lower leg. Im really happy with it. I will post some pictures hopefully soon of the elephant and my soon to be glyph man!

For my Floater tattoo, I think it's going to be a bit more obscure, which is what I did with my other band tattoo... I want to get a crow on each shoulder, looking up at me... because "Watched Over by Crows" was the first Floater song I ever heard. Plus I just really love crows so it will be awesome regardless.
