http://www.youtube.com/v/evLycF8aPd4We got there a little early and there were some technical difficulties setting up. They kept us entertained by giving us signed CD's, t-shirts and little VIP laminates, which were cute but obviously unnecessary. I mean, we were the only two people there besides the band and the radio DJs. Do we really need a special ID to let them know who we are? I guess they wanted us to feel special. Like having a private up close personal Floater show wasn't special enough. By the time we got into the studio, we had a tiny cramped corner to stand in. Such is live radio. Rob had on a Wovenhand t-shirt (props!) and they were obviously a little ragged from the Salem show. But they still brought plenty of energy to the room.
The video cuts away and doesn't show it, but they actually opened playing acoustic 'Personal Jesus'. Guess you had to catch it live if you wanted to hear it. I threatened to kiss Dave, which apparently got on the air. The rest is there in the video. Because of the technical difficulties (which had to do with their DJ equipment I think) they asked Floater to do a third unscheduled song, hence getting to hear 'Apology'. Afterward, we took some pictures, and that finished out the evening. The boys were all very gracious and the radio DJs were even decent people. More than I expected from a big clear channel sort of operation.
Thanks to Floater and Alex for setting up the show and getting a couple star struck fans in to see the whole thing!
